Restorative Justice / Alternative Measures
Oyen & District FCSS is excited to embrace the Restorative Justice Process in Rural Alberta Program.  This project is a collaborative community-based initiative that serves to foster opportunity for meaningful and accountable resolution between individuals who have caused harm and the people and/or communities who have been impacted by their behaviour.
FCSS has developed a referral process to receive files.  The files can come from the Crown, Probation & Corrections or from police.  A trained restorative justice practitioner will work with the offender and those affected by the crime.  All parties with a stake in a specific offence will collectively work towards dealing with the aftermath of the offence and its implications for the future.
